Acupuncture for Families

Acupuncture is frequently used for couples with fertility concerns involving conditions such as:

  • PCOS

  • Endometriosis

  • Luteal phase defect

  • Low ovarian reserve

  • Hormone imbalance

  • Ovulation disorders

  • Recurrent miscarriage

  • Male reproductive disorders

Research has also proven acupuncture can increase the chance of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) by 50% and to be beneficial in preparation for, and during embryo transfer, helping relax the uterus and reducing

miscarriage rates.

At Sustain Community Acupuncture we understand that being reproductively challenged leads couples to anxiety, frustration and stress. Besides evaluating your condition and offering the right treatment, our understanding therapists are here to support you every step of the way.

What to expect from your fertility treatment?  Women are diagnosed as reproductively challenged if they have been trying to conceive for more than one year (for women under 35) or for six months (for women over 35), yet infertility can be caused by a number of factors and conditions. They include poor nutrition, stress, medications, past use of hormonal

birth control and pathological conditions.

Depending on the severity of your condition, a practitioner will usually recommend a treatment schedule of 2-3 sessions per week for the first 3-4 weeks, tapering gradually to a maintenance schedule of once per

week depending on how well the patient responds to acu-therapy.

Patients are also given herbs to regulate the cycle and enhance reproductive factors. While the cost of fertility treatments may seem daunting, Sustain Community Acupuncture offers several package options that make the price significantly lower compared to other fertility centers and artificial reproductive methods.
