Med schools increasingly teach alternatives

In this recent article from StatesmanJournal.com, future doctors and nurses are now learning about alternative medicine such as acupuncture and herbs in their medical school courses.

The government has invested an immense amount of money–more than $22 million–to fund medical and nursing school programs that focus on alternative medicine practices. In addition, additional tax money has been spent to recruit young doctors to do research in this field, hoping that there will be more careers in alternative medicine practices.

With the increasing popularity of alternative medicine, schools are really emphasizing education in this field–for the safety of patients.
